How the web delivers a page
A browser requests a URL, receives an HTTP response, and parses HTML into a document. A successful response does not guarantee that every image or stylesheet loaded.
Worked example
GET /courses HTTP/1.1
Host: academy.example
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Put it into practice
Use browser developer tools to inspect one HTML request, its response status, and a missing image request.
Check your understanding
- Explain the main idea in your own words.
- Compare your result with the worked example and identify any assumptions you made.
- Record one question or edge case to discuss with your instructor.
